One step closer

Finally, a month ends and I have a feeling of accomplishment. Here’s a peek into the crazy ride taking me toward first tine authorship.

This week was the best! Monday I hit send on my edits for D&D. My editor liked the changes—YAY! I’d set myself a goal to send this back the previous Friday. My target just flew by. In my defense, this had more to do with document issues. At one point the page froze and I ended up losing half a page of edits. Then, once I thought I was done, I caught a place where a word was missing. No biggie. It happens in this world of cut and paste…right? Then I found another word missing then another. I went back through to see what else I could find. Meanwhile Ria, my bestie, is taking time out of her day to give me feedback on my changes. I don’t know what I’d do without her, and I hope I never have to find out.

Early this week I met with a promo person from my publisher. We had a nice chat, and I must admit I went blank at a crucial spot. But I’d expected to stumble at least once—I’m me, after all. Once I got past that, I took notes and went on to my next task.

I have some appointments set up for next week. Hopefully I’ll be able to kick out some changes or updates needed to my profile. And maybe, I’ll manage not to feel like crawling under a rock somewhere. LOL

Thinking about it, the countdown starts today. In exactly one month, May 27th, my book goes live. It seems like a fair amount of time, but I’m sure once I have a To Do list in hand, that month is going to seem like hours instead of weeks.

With everything going on I took some time to do something for myself. I went to the doctor for my yearly exam. Not my favorite thing to do, but hey, it’s necessary. I’ve taken the weekend to relax and kick back with Brat in a comfy, clean house.  Believe it or not, I even got to read.

Remember to check back because sometime within the next couple of weeks I’ll be able to share the awesome book cover for D&D. They were able to use the image that inspired Kris and Tessa.

  1. Great accomplishments! Can’t wait to power up my Kindle and see your novel in my library.

    • Thanks Lily,

I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it.
